Customize your COVID Plan with an App

Guidance for schools has shifted throughout the pandemic. Expectations from parents, your staff, and your community change as well. As administrators, you have the often thankless task of making health and safety decisions for your organization.

Feeling pandemic fatigue? This article from Medical News Today lists tips for self-care due to the stress and frustration. The first suggestion is to set clear boundaries between work and home. As educators, this is no easy task. For those who are dedicated to student success, it's hard to disconnect from the needs of the students in your care.

As the science of the pandemic changes, the best practices for schools change as well. While we can't offer help for making sure you take care of yourself—or convince everyone in your community to agree on a plan of action—a branded mobile app from SchoolInfo provides the tools you need to improve communication and manage some of the more burdensome administration tasks of the pandemic.

How can a branded app from SchoolInfo help your district? The short answer is: it has features that can be fully customized, depending on your need. The long answer? Keep on reading!

Here are a few features that have been especially helpful throughout the pandemic:

COVID Screening: To reduce risk, many schools are requiring daily health screenings of everyone coming to campus. The SchoolInfo COVID screener allows administrators to ask a series of yes or no questions. If the question is answered incorrectly, the respondent will be advised not to come to campus. Administrators will be notified of the failed screening and a record will be retained of all responses for future reporting needs. Your school will be able to select what questions will be asked, and add more if the pre-selected options don't meet your needs.

Vaccine Card Upload: Within the app, users are able to upload their vaccination documentation, including when they were vaccinated and which vaccine they have received. Administrators can also select which roles will be required to upload a vaccine card (or if you wish to use the functionality at all). The feature may be required for staff only, or for specific groups.

Push notifications: Push notifications are 1-way communication alerts sent from your app.  If you need to get the word out quickly to anyone in your community, push notifications are a great way to do it. You can send a daily reminder to complete the COVID screening, or send out notifications to specific groups to let them know the most important information.

Conversations: Conversations allows for 2-way messaging from within the app, working similar to text messaging without giving out personal contact information. This is a great communication tool for connecting with individuals or with smaller groups (such as staff or direct communication with parents).

Documents: Keep all your health and safety information in one place with the documents functionality. These documents can be shared via push notifications or within the Conversations functionality.

Forms: Submit forms electronically! No hard copy, no coming to campus to deliver the forms. Not only is this a safe way to submit forms, it also reduces costs and avoids confusion over bad handwriting!

Customer Success: Overwhelmed just thinking about these options? The SchoolInfo customer success team can help with set up every step of the way. From creating forms to helping you select which questions to ask in the COVID screener, consider our team an extension of your staff.

At SchoolInfo, we are grateful for all the passionate educators who have persevered throughout the challenges of the pandemic. Set up a demo with a member of our team to learn more about how a branded app can help your school or district!
