Is recovering from COVID stressing you out?

I recently read an article from District Administration (DA), "6 problems that have made COVID recovery look like a game of ‘Whack-a-Mole’." The  6 problems mentioned by DA:

  1. Central offices need new ways to support learning
  2. Many students will need more than acceleration to catch up and stay engaged
  3. Concerns about teacher habits from remote learning
  4. Continued political controversies
  5. Burnt-out teachers
  6. Ongoing behavioral problems that many educators blame on students missing out on key developmental stages

These are challenges I'm sure you are well aware of working on the frontline of education. Odds are you have experienced at least one or two if not all of them. They are all big issues that will require time, dedication, and collaboration to devise solutions. But don't worry, we're not here to stress you out.

Destress Yourself!

As educators, we know you devote the majority of your time to the big issues like making sure students are reaching their full potential. And we know you are stressed, so we're not here to talk about that right now. We thought we'd share some of our favorite ways to unwind with a list of fun and challenging games like Wordle, which has taken mobile games to a whole new level. With Wordle, you can experience the fun of trying to figure out the five-letter word of the day. All you have to do is bookmark the webpage or save it to your home screen and try to figure out (strategically) the best way to solve the puzzle. If you're worried about screen time, the best part is that it only has one puzzle a day, so you won't fall into a never-ending trap and lose track of time.

Word games not your thing? No problem! There are a ton of alternatives out there. Here are a few:

Worldle: Test your geography skills by naming a country in 6 guesses. Each guess lets you know how many kilometers you are off—and in what direction you should be going.

Nerdle: Can you figure out an equation in 6 guesses? Try your hand at Nerdle and see!

Primel: Guess the five-digit prime number!

Semantle: I don't really understand this one, but from their description: Each guess must be a word (or short phrase like San Juan or id est). Semantle will tell you how semantically similar it thinks your word is to the secret word. Unlike that other word game, it's not about the spelling; it's about the meaning.

Really like Wordle but want it to up the challenge? Try these:
