SchoolInfo is excited to announce the upcoming release of our new People feature for the SchoolInfo dashboard!
SchoolInfo is committed to finding fresh and innovative ways to make managing your information and processes better and more convenient. Our comprehensive People feature does just that!
Once released, the updated People record consolidates the Contacts and Students into one high-level Person record. The People feature allows you to set up or edit the primary details of the record such as name and contact information, and simplifies connecting accounts, identities, and relationships all in one place.
No more moving from page to page to ensure that contacts have the proper access or permissions; the new People feature has merged all the filtering options under one location as a single page.
Easy-to-use tabs enable you to add or edit a Person’s Account information (where you can assign the desired dashboard access and permissions), as well as associate an identity type with a Person contact such as Staff, Student or Parent. In addition, we have added the option to create Relationships associated with a Person. For example, a student can have multiple parents/guardians; or a parent/guardian can have multiple students.
To further simplify managing your students in People records, we have moved the Hall Pass and Student Badge to their own stand-alone features. Now you can assess the Hall Pass and Student Badge functions from their own page!
Additionally, to make it easier to organize your People records, we have created a new feature called Directory. The Directory feature allow you to create folders (formerly contact types) to arrange your People entries into manageable groups. The best part of Directories is that each directory entry is a link to a Person record, so that if a Person’s record changes, the underlying Directory entry will also change!
It is our goal to provide the most up-to-date and streamlined experience for all our users. The new People feature promises just that. This new approach will make it easier to manage contact records throughout the school year and will simplify transition year to year as well. We will handle the feature update on our end, allowing you to explore the new People experience at your own pace.
