Well-known author Charles Dickens wrote the immortal words, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”, and those words still resonate today. Suffice it to say that the last few years have been a struggle for many, and stress can really take a toll on our day-to-day lives.

While there are numerous ways to counteract stress, we all daydream about the carefree days of our childhood. Who can deny that adulting is a far cry from games of kick-the-can, mud pies, and riding your bike to the park with your besties?

Well, the kids at West Side Elementary School in Healdsburg, California thought we all might need a bit of uplifting and encouragement in these trying times and created a hotline just in time to (maybe!) save the world one call at a time – kid-style!

Feeling mad? Frustrated? Nervous? Press 1.

Maybe you are just needing some encouragement or some timely life advice, press 2.

If a pep talk is more in line, press 3.

Want to just hear some super cute kid laughter, press 4 (guaranteed to bring a smile!)

And for encouragement in Spanish, be sure to press 5.
Or, if you’re like me, listen to ALL the options – and get ready to empty your wallet for ice cream and of course, think about groundhogs. Or in the sage advice of one student, ‘choose weird!’
